Purpose of the Role
To ensure the site has documented technical systems that meet customer expectations and provide a platform for training and support the food manufacture operations team.
To drive compliance and continuous improvement in core technical disciplines:
- Quality manual system management
- Internal audit compliance
- Complaint reduction
- Environmental and product micro reduction
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop site quality systems that satisfy customers and 3rd party audit requirements, and would be capable of meeting a due diligence defence.
- Manage the internal audit system ensuring audits are carried out to the agreed schedule.
- Manage the complaint and microbiological reduction strategies, driving initiatives and engagement across multi-functional teams.
- Ensure full compliance to all current and new site customer codes of practice by leading systematic reviews and drive changes to meet requirements.
- Maintain and develop requirements to obtain chain of custody certifications i.e., RSPO, MSC etc.
- Manage the technical services team. Set objectives and team and individual KPI’s.
- Manage the graduate and industrial placement program.
- Work alongside the technical manager to drive overall site technical compliance.

Knowledge & Experience
- Degree or equivalent in a food related discipline.
- Knowledge of BRC standard, customer codes of practice and relevant chain of custody standards.
- A good understanding of microbiological standards, GMP & GHP.
- Quality experience within quality assurance in the food sector
