Paralegal - Peter Edwards Law

I am currently working alongside a professional award winning Law firm based in Wirral. They are looking for a Paralegal who has experience in court of protection to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work amongst the legal experts and progress your career.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for day to day running of the files.

• Thinking holistically about the cases and being proactive i.e. anticipating what is coming up in the future.

• Engage in regular discussions with the responsible fee earner/ALR either by phone or in person or by email.

• Once a new file is allocated ensuring that all necessary tasks completed and diarised in addition to the list below, namely: initial visit, securing availability of and instructing counsel, putting parties on notice that we have been instructed, filing notice of acting and emergency legal aid in court – Responsible for allocating these tasks but can be delegated.

• Visiting clients regularly

• Speaking to clients on the telephone/video call.

• Ensuring that we have a valid standard authorisation in place, and ensure standard authorisation is diarised.

• Deal with orders both draft and sealed versions, liaising with counsel, LF and parties to agree orders. Amending draft orders. Drafting both minor (e.g. TPDO’s) and substantive (e.g. directions) orders.
