Job Title: Solution Designer & Architect (Telephony) Location: Remote with occasional travel to Warwick Rate: £633.75 per day (PAYE through Umbrella - inside IR35) Clearance Required: SC Clearance Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Solution Designer & Architect with strong expertise in telephony and Microsoft technologies to lead the design, build, and governance of a high-availability kiosk workstation telephony solution . The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing a domain (cloud) joined kiosk Windows desktop solution, ensuring seamless integration with telephony systems and adherence to security and governance requirements. This role is a remote position with occasional travel to Warwick, and it requires a candidate who holds SC clearance . The position will involve full ownership of the design, configuration, build, and testing of the solution, working at pace to meet project deadlines. Key Responsibilities: Solution Design and Implementation: Lead the design and build of a Windows 11 kiosk workstation telephony solution within a VLAN with minimal external connectivity. Ensure the design adheres to governance standards and security best practices (CIS 1 Benchmark). Develop and implement a kiosk build solution using Microsoft Entra and Intune . Integrate and configure existing products including Microsoft Defender , Palo Alto XDR , and TMC Telephony Client . Configuration and Deployment: Configure touchscreen and phone handset drivers for telephony operations. Script and enable telephone system operations similar to existing systems. Drive any necessary adjustments to ensure integration with current products and management agents (e.g., SNOW Atlas , TeamViewer ). Network Configuration and Testing: Manage network configuration to ensure communication between the workstation, line-of-business services , and remote management systems (Microsoft Entra, Intune, ServiceNow, etc.). Perform testing to validate functionality, operability for end-users, and serviceability of infrastructure and supporting components. Full Solution Ownership: Own the entire solution lifecycle from design through to testing and delivery, ensuring the kiosk build is fit for purpose and integrates effectively with the telephony solution. Technical Skills & Expertise: Microsoft Technologies: Strong design and build experience with Microsoft Entra and Microsoft Intune . Experience configuring and managing Windows 11 in a domain-joined kiosk environment. Expertise in Microsoft Defender and integrating security tools within a telephony solution. Telephony Solutions: Experience with telephony systems, including TMC Telephony Clients , touchscreens, and phone handset configuration. Experience with scripting to enable telephony operations in a controlled environment. Security and Governance: Experience designing solutions that meet CIS 1 Benchmark security standards. Ability to implement and enforce governance, ensuring compliance throughout the solution lifecycle. Network & System Integration: Understanding of network configurations and communication protocols to ensure seamless interaction with business services, cloud solutions, and management systems. Experience working with IT service management tools such as SNOW Atlas and ServiceNow . Key Requirements: SC Clearance: Candidates must hold active SC Clearance to be considered. Experience: Proven track record in solution design and architecting telephony solutions with Microsoft and cloud technologies. Contract Role: Must be available to work PAYE through Umbrella .
