Land Buyer

Legacie is at the forefront of property development, renowned for our commitment to excellence and innovation. We are expanding our dynamic team, seeking a strategic land buyer. This pivotal role will drive land acquisition and development strategies, shaping the future of our communities.


Role overview

As a Land Buyer at Legacie, you will be instrumental in identifying and assessing residential development land opportunities. Your expertise will guide thorough due diligence processes, including site visits, feasibility studies, and market analysis, to evaluate potential sites for profitability and strategic fit. This role will predominantly focus on the Northwest but may also include UK wide.


Responsibilities:

·        Scout and evaluate new residential development land opportunities.

·        Cultivate and nurture relationships with Housing Associations, local authorities, agents, landowners, and fellow developers.

·        Conduct thorough due diligence, including site visits, feasibility studies, and market analysis to evaluate the suitability and profitability of potential sites.

·        Support the Development & Housing Director with acquisition strategies and prepare accurate viability assessments.

·        Prepare comprehensive viability assessments and financial models to support decision-making processes.

·        Represent the company at industry events, networking functions, and public meetings to enhance the company’s profile and land acquisition opportunities.

·        Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to address planning conditions and discharge obligations effectively.

·        Collaborate with the Planning Manager to achieve planning consents and manage obligations and payments.

·        Work alongside pre-construction, commercial, sales, and affordable housing teams, as well as external consultants, to monitor site progress.

·        Engage in legal negotiations and assist in preparing board approval packs for land acquisitions.


Requirements:

·        Degree in a property-related field.

·        Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

·        In-depth geographical and residential market knowledge.

·        Proven experience in negotiating land agreements and understanding residual appraisals.

·        Familiarity with national and local planning policies.

·        A positive team player who is committed to the business’s success.

·        Proven experience in Land Agency or Developer roles.

·        A knack for identifying viable land development opportunities.

·        A strong understanding of the planning process
