We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated ETL Developer with expertise in Azure Data Factory and QlikSense to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes to manage data flows and integrations between different systems. You will play a critical role in ensuring data quality, accessibility, and performance across our data platforms.


The client is based in Liverpool and would require weekly visits to the office. The role is outside IR35 and expected to last 3 months.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources.
  • Develop, configure, and optimize QlikSense dashboards and reports to provide meaningful insights to business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with data architects, data scientists, and business analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into robust ETL workflows.
  • Ensure efficient data integration and flow between cloud platforms and on-premise environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any data-related issues, ensuring high levels of data quality and reliability.
  • Monitor and optimize performance of ETL pipelines and QlikSense applications for scalability.
  • Document processes, data flows, and system architecture for future maintenance and knowledge transfer.
  • Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments.
  • Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality data solutions within tight deadlines.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in ETL development with a focus on Azure Data Factory.
  • Proficient in building and maintaining data pipelines for both structured and unstructured data.
  • Strong experience with QlikSense for data visualization, dashboard development, and reporting.
  • Experience with Azure services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Power BI is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and T-SQL for data querying and manipulation.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and debugging data issues, with the ability to analyze performance bottlenecks.
  • Experience working with API integrations and handling large datasets.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for automated data deployments is desirable.
  • Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git) for managing codebases and workflows.
  • Knowledge of data governance and security best practices in the cloud.
