AtS Norton & Co Ltd, we are proud to be one of the country'sleading metal recycling companies.
As a HGV Technician, working nights, you will be based at our Liverpool site and join the Transport Maintenance department. The department ensuresall vehicles are maintained to VOSA standards for all HGV vehicles, trailers, company cars and vans across the companyand this position will report to the Maintenance Team Leader.
Summary of Duties:
Whilst the job role is based in Liverpool, from time to time the job holder will be required to work at our other company sites
Key Responsibilities:
Service and inspect all vehicles to VOSA standardDiagnose and rectify any faults that may ariseIdentify and order parts as and when requiredParticipate in the depot call out rotaCarry out breakdown when necessaryTo complete and maintain all documentation on the companys vehicle maintenance systemTo make written and/or verbal reports to line managers as requiredTo attend progress meetings with line managers as and when requiredCarry out any additional duties that may be reasonably requested from time to timeTo comply with company policies and procedures as defined in the Employee manual and the post holders terms & particulars of employment

Essential Skills:
Proven track record of working in a comparable roleNVQ level 3 or above in HGV mechanicsThe ability to strip down components and rebuildKnowledge and experience of inspection methods/processorsKnowledge and experience of statutory vehicle inspection requirementsIT Literate with the ability to use a range of packages applicable to the role, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (emails)Full UK driving licenceExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Desirable Skills
HGV class 2 or 1 LicenceForklift truck licenceThe ability to work in a clean room environmentIRTEC qualifiedRelevant training on Hiab/Multi-lift equipmentWelding and hot work knowledge/experienceAbility to utilise/understand diagnostic equipment (preferably Jaltest)
Hours:43.75 hours per week,Monday - Friday, 07:45 - 17:00
