Senior Planner
Location: Chester - 3 days on site 2 days remote
Start date: 19th September 2024
End date: Initial 4 months, potential to be extended long term
We are currently on the look out for a Senior Planner to provide support on a complex project with an industrial client.
Role Overview
- Supporting client with front end development process (knowledge of FEL gates is desirable)
- Developing and owning the integrated management schedule
- Interrogating & analysing the EPCM schedule and progress reporting
- Planning and scheduling client work packages
- Working with client, consultants and contractors to schedule planning, permitting & other regulatory approvals
- Challenge client and contractor schedule including being able to demonstrate basis for challenge
- Reviewing progress submissions from the contractor and providing advice and guidance to client
- Supporting the change management process
- Leading schedule reviews and meeting with contractor on behalf of client
- Schedule interactive planning reviews and what if analysis
- Providing schedule input to client project team and business support functions (i.e. finance)
- Ad-hoc support to client as with Client Director
Requirements
- Sector knowledge: Chemical & industrial (or oil & gas)
- Discipline knowledge: Civil, Mechanical, pipework, electrical, instrumentation, access, insulation, painting within Industrial sector (power, chemical, oil, gas, etc).
- Experience 10 years plus including >5 years in a senior commercial role on major capital projects (£100m-£1bn)
- Must have experience of major EPC or EPCM contracts either client or contractor.
- Strong planning background ideally client side, ideally with knowledge of risk management.
