Major Recruitment are working with a well established precision engineering company based in Liverpool, they are experts in all things material handling and manufacturing finished products.
As a CNC Machinist, you will be using a wide range of materials from Stainless steel to plastics. You will be responsible for setting and operating the milling machines on-site to produce high quality components to customer specifications, all will be in line with QA procedures and to the engineering drawings.
Responsibilities:
- Manufacturing parts to customer specifications using the CNC milling machines and interpreting the the engineering drawings.
- Working with customer drawings to produce CNC programmes using the CNC software
- Ensuring all the parts are manufactured to the specified tolerances by using measuring equipment as specified by the company QMS
- Assist sales in determining quotes based upon time frames, materials needed and design (for large jobs)
- Selecting appropriate equipment/tooling for the manufacturing and set up
- Conduct first off inspections and in work inspections as required to ensure all parts conform to requirements.
- Perform job changeovers, machines are cleaned down and 5S conducted
- Utilize basic troubleshooting and fault finding to identify quality issues and provide actions in order to overcome
- Use company's MRP system in order to track jobs with a clock ON/OFF syste, allowing accurate timing and costs
Skills/Experience:
- Experience on conventional lathes and milling machines
- Time served CNC turner with in depth engineering knowledge
- Time served craftsman to at least NVQ level 3 or equivalent
- Ideally have at least 3 years experience in a similar environment
- Ideally have experience using HAAS ST10Y/ST30Y machines (or similar)
- Experience programming in One CNC (advantageous)
- Accurately break down work and produce one offs
