Job Requirements/Description

One of the UK's most long-serving Cost & Project Consultancy are now looking to bring in an intermediate to senior level Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team based in the North West.

They have offices across Greater Manchester and the Merseyside area but predominantly you will have the freedom to remote work so location can be flexible.

This practice pride themselves in complex engineering and traditional build projects throughout the UK which you will continue to deliver and be part of their ever expanding service. Due to their versatile project list, they are open to QS's who have operated in the following fields;

  • Nuclear
  • Oil & Gas
  • Pharmaceutical
  • Green energy
  • Utilities

The key requirements for this position are ideally for those with few years PQS/client-side NEC Contract experience and MRICS qualified (although desire or working towards your MRICS will also be considered).

You will be a pivotal member within the QS team and in return will be offered a very competitive package and numerous company benefits in return. For this particular role, you will be seconded half the week to a nuclear site within he North West so if you have a passion and interest in complex nuclear energy work, this could very much be a role for you.

Requirements

  • Have strong communication (both written and verbal) skills and an interpersonal style that enables you to flourish in a direct client facing role
  • Have done or able to undergo a security clearance to gain access to site
  • Be able to chair meetings and have the leadership skills needed to lead a project team, which may sometimes include managing conflict and resolving complex issues
  • Have exceptional planning and organisation skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple demands
  • Be able to work independently, make sensible judgments and decisions, and take responsibility for doing whatever it takes to get the job done.
  • To assist in the management of the delivery of all pre & post contract services, comprising dealing with cost variances and associated change control processes, conducting valuation processes, carrying out cost checks, producing regular cost reports, negotiating and agreeing final accounts.
  • NEC3/4 contract knowledge
