Operations & Commercial Director – Energy Location: Home based must have easy access to The Home Counties, Midlands, Oxfordshire or Buckinghamshire (must be willing to spend time at business unit sites and travel) Salary: £130-148,000 + bonus +corporate benefits Our Client is a UK based high growth organisation (soon to be expanding globally) and is seeking an exceptional leader with experience within the energy sector, including renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency, and regulatory requirements Part of the divisional Senior Leadership Team you will lead across, a number divisional business units, adding strategic planning, business development, operational optimisation & fostering strong relationships with internal & external stakeholders to support ambitious growth plans and having the ownership of the P&L for each business unit. This role will operate closely with the group central functions and other divisions to ensure efficient & consistent ways of working. The role: Develop and implement strategies to direct operational efficiency and commercial growth Identify opportunities for synergies between operations and commercial functions to maximise performance and profitability focused on group & divisional financial performance (revenue currently £70m & EBITDA), stakeholder feedback and the successful development of customer offers Oversee all aspects of daily operations, including production, logistics, supply chain management, and quality assurance Optimise operational processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance productivity Identify new market opportunities and develop strategies to expand the organisation's customer base and revenue streams Provide strong leadership and direction to both the operations and commercial teams Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement across departments Set clear goals and performance metrics for team members and provide regular feedback and coaching Work closely with the sales and account management teams to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention Develop and manage budgets for both operational and commercial activities, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives Monitor financial performance against targets and take corrective actions as needed to achieve desired outcomes Implement robust internal controls and compliance procedures to ensure regulatory and contractual obligations are met Structure and plan for the efficient and effective integration of newly acquired businesses Provide leadership support to the business units and be prepared to step in as required. The person: Degree educated or equivalent ideally demonstration of continuous development, ideally with an MBA Proven experience in a senior leadership role, with a strong understanding of operations management principles and practices Progressive experience of the energy sector, including renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency, and regulatory requirements Strong commercial outlook & proficiency in financial analysis and budget management must have managed P&L’s and influences the outcomes in a positive way Excellent strategic planning and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyse complex situations and develop effective solutions Experience of creating and implementing lean strategies Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of successfully leading, inspiring & motivating teams to achieve goals and objectives Demonstrable proven ability to successfully manage the implementation of services/solutions and demonstrate delivery and achievement Exceptional communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and financial acumen and be able to develop this in others A high degree of reliability and integrity with an open mindset, to enable management of demands arising through organisational growth and embrace change and challenge To apply for this career defining opportunity please your CV to email nicola.eddy@hprtalent.com Please note: We will be shortlisting for these positions in about 21 days time and if we are in a position to progress with your application we will contact you then.
