Head of Procurement - Chester (Hybrid 2-3 days in the office) - £65,000-£70,000 + Benefits
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join a growing Pharma business at an exciting stage of their life cycle. Following recent acquisition, there have been significant investment in the business and a need for a Head of Procurement has arisen.
This is a stand alone role reporting directly to the CEO - It is a unique, genuine greenfield opportunity or someone to shape and create their own function.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimise the sourcing and procurement of Good and services
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to negotiate favourable terms and pricing agreements
- Help create and oversee the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies
- Take the lead in conducting market research and analysis to identify new suppliers, products, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Manage the inventory of products at the modern distribution centre, optimising stock levels and minimizing wastage.
The person:
- In-depth knowledge of the Procurement and supply chain processes, ideally with previous experience in the Pharma industry.
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving cost savings and favourable contract terms.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Analytical mind-set with proficiency in data analysis tools & techniques
- Experience managing inventory and logistics is desirable
