We are searching for an experienced Senior Merchandiser to join our growing Product Team. We are looking for an individual that is data driven, highly organised, team oriented and has a keen interest in fashion in their day-to-day life, with a talent for delivering stylish, innovative and profitable ranges. This position is open to candidates with 2+ years of experience in a merchandising role, with a proven track record of successful planning, managerial skills and driving profit.


This role is office based at our HQ near Chester (CH5), working amongst a creative and visionary team, all striving towards taking the brand to the next level. The Senior Merchandiser role will sit within our Merchandising team, working closely alongside our Product & Buying Team. This role will report to the Product & Buying Manager and the company Directors, with finance and budgeting reporting to the Financial Controller.



What you will do:

  • Manage and organise the end-to-end planning and buying process for upcoming collections, overseeing budgets by collection or category and the depth of buy in line with financial plans and budgets
  • Forecast demand, particularly over busy seasonal periods, using historical data but also factoring in demand growth month-on-month
  • Produce clear strategies for the brand to meet trade targets, ensuring profitability is achieved demand is effectively met
  • Build, uphold and manage relationships with our brilliant suppliers in Turkey, UK and China, negotiating the best terms and margins, setting timeline expectations and ensuring the communication process is easy to understand via an optimal way of working
  • Work to ensure a smooth (and regularly updated) critical path from order placement through to order delivery
  • Oversee and control stock levels across all categories based on weekly sales data and intake
  • Assess best and worst performing products, with informed recommendations to put into action
  • Monitor and maintain gross profit margins and buying margins
  • Develop and share sales and buy plans, using previous sales data and product analysis to strengthen proposals and decision making
  • Assist in ensuring all collections are built commercially attractive, with analysis and planning for different regional focuses with consideration of UK and international targets
  • Lead weekly trade meetings for product categories and provide in-depth insight to Directors, with commercial analysis across products & collections
  • Oversee wholesale partnerships, providing key updates to Directors on a weekly basis alongside an overview of performance
  • Oversee OTB budget per month, and present proposals for new product & rebuys to management team
  • Organise all markdown, promotional and clearance planning, to ensure targets are met seasonally
  • Support with the development and managing of junior members of team
  • Conduct detailed ad-hoc analysis when required to support the Merchandising Team and wider business
  • Ensure all deadlines are met, with timescales regularly monitored & the ability to find appropriate solutions in the event of problems or delays arising


We are looking for someone that has:

  • A minimum of 2+ years experience in a Merchandising role (currently at a Junior Merchandiser level role or higher in a Fashion Retail company)
  • Either a degree or equivalent experience
  • The ability to work from our office near Chester (CH5)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a flair for organisation and efficiency
  • Heightened attention to even the smallest of details, and the drive to always try and achieve the closest to a perfect outcome in all work
  • The ability to work well under pressure and having a can-do attitude particularly in tight timeframes
  • Experience with working on and organising different projects simultaneously and against tight deadlines
  • The mindset to constantly improve, not only personally, but the Merchandising department’s operation and the company as a whole
