Swift Placements are currently recruiting on behalf on our Engineering client based in Liverpool for a
Precision Pump Shaft Centre Lathe Turner. This is a permanent, full time position offering genuine career opportunities and a chance to join a company who are growing.
The Company;Our client was originally established in 1931 with the aim to support the local automotive, dock and shopping companies. They have gone to become a first choice supplier to blue chip companies within Oil, Gas, Fluid & Power Generation Sectors, specialising in the manufacture and supply of precision valve and pump components.
The Position;This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join the Precision Pump Shaft Cell as a centre lathe turner at our Liverpool site. The role will involve working from precision drawings to roughout and finish turn shafts up to 4m in length from raw bar stock and forgings of various grades of steel, stainless steel, and alloy steels on a centre lathe.
Successful Candidate Specification/ Experience (Essential)- Must be time served (NVQ 3 or Equivalent)
- Work from detailed engineering drawings
- Understand ISO 9001:2015 Quality Systems
- Previous experience in using steadies and turning precision pump shafts up to 4.0m in length
- Previous experience with machining of exotic metals (super duplex, duplex, 718, x750, Hastelloy, Monel etc)
- Experience in a previous or similar position (2 years minimum)
- Good Planning and Organising skills
- Good communication Skills with both peers and Management
- Attention to detail
Successful Candidate Experience (Desirable)- Previous experience in finish turning multi-stage pump shafts
- Other skills within a subcontract machine shop
Salary & Benefits- Salary offering £15.99 - £17.09/ Hr ( £32.4K -£34.6K /PA + Overtime)
