Countrywide Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of one of the largest, privately-owned intermodal transport operators in the UK. We provide a comprehensive range of services to support international and domestic supply chains, including container transport, domestic distribution, container storage and ancillary services, container repairs, freight management and port-centric warehousing.

The Vacancy

If you have experience within the container transport industry this could be a fantastic opportunity for you to join a market leader as a transport operator on a 4 on 4 off night shift basis at the Liverpool depot.

Key Responsibilities

• Dealing with multiple drivers
• Communicating with ports
• Booking delivery slots for entry in ports
• Using a transport system called TOPS for putting down drivers start times and finish times.
• Chasing drivers for etas and making sure they are on time.
• Re-routing jobs as and when needed
• Checking all PODS are matched up with the correct jobs on the system
• Speaking to customers on possible delays etc

Qualifications

• Experience as a Transport Operator - essential
• Experience with Container transport - preferred
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to problem-solve in real-time and handle high-stress situations calmly.
• Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work night shifts consistently (4 on 4 off)
• Excellent UK geographical knowledge
