This client company is an engineering design, manufacturing and supply business that is looking to grow significantly over the next 5 years. The business works across a broad range of sectors with blue chip and well-known customers and has a solid pipeline for the foreseeable future.
The Requirement
Due to growth plans, success and the business strategy, the company is looking to recruit a full-time Commercial & Finance Director.
Core Role & Responsibilities
The key role and responsibilities for this person will include:
- Strategic leadership of all commercial and finance matters
- Ensuring strong commercial awareness of all projects and contracts
- Being really proactive, updating fellow Board members on key commercial and financial performances across the company’s operations, contracts and projects
- Production of management accounts, cashflows and forecasts
- Providing advice and recommendations on administering, strengthening and de-risking contracts, helping with the drafting of these and mitigating risks in general, ensuring people are doing this so as to enhance the overall commercialism of the company
- Involvement with procurement matters
- Keeping the business up to date with certificates and chasing these to ensure high levels of compliance and professionalism
- Promoting continuous commercial improvement, learning and best practice across the whole of the company
Experience & Fit
Suitable candidates will have the following backgrounds:
- Finance or Commercial Manager/Director leadership experience to date ideally within the construction, manufacturing and/or engineering services markets – really understand contracting companies
- Strong commercial acumen and experience with enhancing contracts
- A track record of enhancing a company’s commercialism, finance operations and contracts
- Ideally a recognised Finance qualification, ACA, ACCA or CMA but this is not a pre-requisite for the right person
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Hands on, driven, energetic, professional and a team player
- Strategic, gravitas, confident and aspirational when it comes to leadership opportunities within growing companies
