Property Credit Controller Department: Lettings
Salary: £26,000 - £28,000
Location: 100% Office-Based
Company Overview: My client, a well-established property management company based in Liverpool, is seeking a dedicated Property Credit Controller to join their team. This role involves managing rental payments across a large portfolio of properties, ensuring the financial stability of their operations.
Role Objective: The Property Credit Controller will be responsible for monitoring and collecting rent payments, ensuring all accounts are current, and providing essential support in debt management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor rental accounts to identify late or missing payments.
- Pursue outstanding payments through emails, letters, and phone calls.
- Reconcile accounts and prepare rent schedules using Excel and the in-house property management system.
- Communicate with tenants regarding rent accounts and resolve any queries.
- Issue payment reminders and escalate unresolved issues as necessary.
- Serve legal notices when required and manage the process through to completion.
- Prepare cases for hearings and attend possession hearings or bailiff appointments if needed.
- Identify and allocate missing payments.
- Run routine and ad hoc reports and post daily rent charges.
- Work closely with the finance department on rental payment matters.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail with the ability to manage your workload independently.
- Interpersonal Skills: Confident in dealing with landlords and tenants, with an excellent telephone manner and the ability to handle complex issues professionally.
- IT Proficiency: Competent in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to tasks.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational, prioritization, and planning abilities, with a proven track record of meeting targets.
