Job Title: CNC Miller (VMC & HMC) - Programmer, Setter, Operator

Location: Aintree, Liverpool
Salary: 16.63- 17.77/hour (approx. 34k- 36k per year)
Potential Earnings with Overtime: 45k- 48k
Hours: 39 hours/week + overtime (subject to availability)
Shift: Monday-Thursday 7:30-16:30, Friday 7:30-12:30

About the Role

Total Staff is recruiting on behalf of a reputable engineering company for an experienced CNC Miller to join their CNC Milling Cell. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled programmer, setter, and operator to work on a variety of one-off and small batch precision components using advanced CNC Vertical and Horizontal Machining Centres (VMC & HMC) with 4th Axis and Renishaw probing systems.

The role involves:

• Programming, setting, and operating CNC machines (Fanuc Controls).
• Working from engineering drawings to produce high-precision components.
• Machining a variety of materials, including steel, stainless steel, and exotic metals (e.g., Duplex, Monel).
• Offline programming using One CNC - XR8 3D milling software or on-machine programming.

Requirements

Essential:

• Time-served (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience programming, setting, and operating VMCs with Fanuc Controls.
• Ability to interpret detailed engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Systems.
• Previous experience machining exotic metals.
• Strong planning, organizing, and communication skills.

Desirable (but not essential):

• Experience with Doosan VMCs and Kafo H630 HMCs.
• Knowledge of Manual Guide and One CNC Programming.
• Background in valve and pump components or the oil, gas, and power generation sectors.
