Job Title: Financial Accountant

Location: Liverpool

Salary: 45,000 - 50,000

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Financial Accountant to join our clients expanding Finance Department in Liverpool. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is part or fully qualified, looking to further their career in a dynamic environment. The role involves preparing and reporting financial data for a growing company, including producing statutory accounts, managing tax reporting, and ensuring timely payments. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to grow their skills while meeting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reconcile monthly Balance Sheet transactions.
• Report on capital expenditure and produce depreciation journals.
• Complete VAT returns.
• Prepare and file annual financial statements (subsidiary and consolidated) in compliance with UK GAAP (FRS 102).
• Provide data for internal reporting and government surveys.
• Assist with year-end audits
• HMRC reconciliations.
• Maintain chart of accounts with the Management Accountant.
• Support bank transfers.
• Perform cash flow reporting and forecasting.

Experience/skills required:

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Group consolidation experience (desirable)
• Part of full qualified ACA/ACCA (essential)
• Proficient in using a variety of IT packages applicable to the role.

• Prior experience in the preparation of company statutory accounts.
• Enthusiasm for reporting developments.
• Experience working alongside external auditors.
• Experience in collecting and analysing data (desirable).

• Knowledge of Payroll and Treasury functions (desirable).
