Our client, an expanding digital marketing company based in Liverpool, is on the lookout for a skilled Web Developer with experience in web development, UX, and Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO). Main Duties

  • In this role, your daily responsibilities will include:
  • Addressing and fixing any technical issues across a variety of websites.
  • Making modifications and improvements to WordPress themes and website designs to enhance conversion rates, accessibility, and overall user experience.
  • Conducting various tests, including UX tests, automated tests, and content evaluations to identify areas for optimisation and improvement.
  • Resolving issues related to website speed and performance, particularly in line with the metrics tracked by Lighthouse reports.
  • Creating and designing new websites and themes tailored to company standards and client needs.
  • Offering support in SEO, hosting management, and WordPress database management.
  • Collaborating closely with the Head of SEO on various tasks, contributing to a seamless workflow and high team efficiency.

What Are We Looking For?

  • To thrive in this position, you'll need the following:
  • Proficiency with WordPress - including themes, plugins, databases, and experience with website optimisation.
  • Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) experience - with a proven record in identifying and implementing effective CRO solutions.
  • User Experience (UX) expertise- the ability to conduct UX tests, address usability issues, and enhance overall user satisfaction.
  • Strong technical skills - particularly in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, as well as a good understanding of hosting platforms, WordPress CMS, and cPanel.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles - to support website optimisation and performance.
  • Attention to detail and organisation - as managing your workload and meeting assigned targets and deadlines is essential.
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills - a creative approach to tackling challenges and finding innovative solutions is highly valued in this role.
  • Interpersonal skills- the ability to communicate well and work collaboratively with a small, supportive team is key.

Desirable Skills

While not essential, the following skills would be beneficial:

Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks like ReactJS.

Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for data management.

Troubleshooting skills for scenarios with limited access, such as without hosting or WordPress admin access.

Understanding of version control using Git.

Experience with WordPress database backups and recoveries.

This full-time, office-based role in Liverpool offers a starting salary of up to 30,000 per year, based on experience.
