Development Manager- Food Industry

Currently recruiting for a privately owned business who are approaching their 40th birthday. They are on the look out for a truly creative and organised Development Manager. This person will be dedicated to creating delicious, high-quality, and sustainable savoury food products. Someone who will push the current boundaries and see the team surpass their potential.


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Food Development Manager to join the team. This role will see you responsible for leading the development of new food products, from concept to market launch. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, marketing, and production, to ensure that the products meet the highest standards of quality and consumer satisfaction.


While day to day will vary, and nothing out of your comfort zone you will be responsible for the below (& additional tasks)

  • Lead the development of new food products, including concept creation and formulation.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, consumer needs, and opportunities for new products.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to develop innovative and sustainable food solutions.
  • Oversee product testing and ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and successful product launches.
  • Work with marketing and sales teams to develop product positioning and go-to-market strategies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitive products, and emerging technologies.


Qualifications

  • Degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in food product development or a similar role (however if you have less please don't be put off applying)
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality assurance standards.
  • Excellent project management skills with a proven track record of successful product launches.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for food innovation and sustainability.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
