Business Development Manager: BTR - UK wide

We are seeking an ambitious and dynamic Business Development Manager to help us expand opportunities in the BTR (Build to Rent) and PBSA (Purpose-Built Student Accommodation) sectors. As the client-facing representative of our company, you would help create and develop effective strategies to drive sustainable growth in line with business targets.

Your goal would be to increase sales and establish long-term relationships with clients.


Key Responsibilities

·        Deliver business opportunity in the growth strategy sectors.

·        Identify corporate partnership opportunities through research and business analysis.

·        Self-generate leads and set appointments with key corporate stakeholders and decision-makers ensuring positive outcomes. Attend appointments that result in corporate partnership deals.

·        Represent the company as a key business development player, highlighting a deep understanding of metrics and the delivery process of BTR and PBSA developments.

·        Be an industry expert, gathering market intelligence for strategic decision-making.

·        Understand and pre-empt market trends, identify opportunities, be confident to present and communicate these to the board of directors.

·        Represent the business at major industry events, conferences, and networking functions.

·        Conduct thorough due diligence, including site visits, feasibility studies, and market analysis to evaluate the suitability and profitability of potential sites.

·        Scout and evaluate new residential development land opportunities.

·        Engage in legal negotiations and assist in preparing board approval packs for land acquisitions.

·        Collaborate with the Planning Manager to achieve planning consents and manage obligations and payments.

·        Prepare comprehensive viability assessments and financial models to support decision-making processes

·        Undertake additional duties as directed by the Development Director.

Contract Management:

Prepare sales contracts, ensuring adherence to legal rules and guidelines.

Negotiate contracts with clients and establish performance timelines.

Relationship Building:

Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers ensuring repeat business.


Requirements:

·        Proven Record: You should have a successful history of achieving targets and delivering results within the sector or a similar sales/new business environment.

·        Experience in Targeting and Winning Business: Several years previous experience in targeting, winning, and generating new business in a customer-facing role is essential. Excellent communication skills (both written, verbal and presentation skills) and adaptability are crucial

·        Self-Initiative: You will need to work independently, using your own initiative.

·        Sector Knowledge: Previous experience in either the BTR or PBSA) sector is essential

·        Market Awareness: Regularly review and stay up to date with market trends to identify potential business development opportunities

·        Proven working experience as a business development manager or in a relevant role.

·        Demonstrable track record.

·        Proven negotiation and influencing skills.

·        Ability to build rapport with clients.
