Planning and Purchasing Manager

Purpose of the role

To provide operational support to the direct material planning team, with strong stock control principles for the business and production operations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

? Overall responsibility for managing our material planning and scheduling team

? Stock management – Monitoring and reporting to Supply Chain manager

? Stock management – reporting and actions with relevant stakeholders for slow moving stocks

? Working with production operations & scheduling team to ensure adherence to business requirements – adherence to plan

? Monitor and follow up on forecast with our sales teams

? Working closely with our procurement manager & suppliers, reviewing requirements, supplier delivery performance and forecast.

? Reviewing current team and set-up, bringing ideas for change and improvements.

? Engage and be part of CI requirements within Planning & Purchase, but also production processes which impact Supply Chain - Planning

Relevant Knowledge

? Knowledge of planning & purchasing processes from an industrial manufacturing background (ideally this will be batch manufacturing)

? Excellent reporting and data presenting skills

? Training/ experience in continuous improvement techniques 

? Proficiency in Microsoft AX desirable

? Strong skills in Excel essential

? Strong leadership and coaching experience
