We have an exciting Locum Social Work position within the Leaving Care service, based in Sefton, Merseyside. You'll work with young people aged 16-18, helping them transition from care to independent adulthood, offering critical support as they take this important step.

We're seeking a social worker who brings enthusiasm, passion, and a commitment to safeguarding young people across the local authority.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct support and guidance to young people, ensuring their transition to adulthood is smooth and successful
  • Build meaningful relationships with young people and their families, ensuring their involvement in assessment, planning, and decision-making processes
  • Manage a varied caseload, ensuring every young person receives the tailored support they need
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies, advocating for the young people and securing essential services
  • Tailor your support based on best evidence and address key risks in each young person's life

Ideally you will have:
  • 1-3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Diploma/Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England
  • Experience with Pathway Planning for looked after children and care leavers
  • Strong partnership experience, particularly in housing and joint homelessness assessments, would be highly desirable
